my 2 cent's

1.) Id do the FAQ (Dump the BLB...etc...)
2.) I would increase the retention period.
3.) Get yourself a DR machine practice and have it just in case
4.) If you have to say delete a mailbox cause say the user is Gone...Ask old
users manager what to do with info...after they ignore you (and Attorney's
will) Id use exmerge to "backup" the user mailbox to a PST. Then deleted MB
it...you'll have the PST just in case....

5.) If I was so in client as to having to have individual mailboxes...and
felt like punishing myself I might try to write a script that would use
Exmerge and it's capabilities to maybe "backup" of each MB to a PST file and
put it on a different machine.

Note: Since with attorney's time is money and in my part of the US (east
coast...tristate NY/CT/NJ area these jokers get like 300~600/hr)
next time they say it is too much money to buy what you need...say a cheap
1500.00 machine for a quick DR ask them what it just cost them to not have
their info when they needed it...its pays for itself pretty
quickly...especially since these guy's bill on the 7/10 of an hour.

Haaaa..I miss the cheapness of attorney's at times.....and their "higher
education"

bill

We currently don't backup the Deleted Items folder at all and we have a 7
day deleted items retention after emptying the trash.

We're a law firm and it's so political on what software we use and how we
use it. They're used to us being able to restore a single mailbox. I
suggested a recovery / test server but we'd have to restore the entire
database each time we needed just one mailbox and that takes a while and
time is money here.
