Not your fault necessarily that you are currently in the position of having to try and make this work, but I think stepping back and looking at the big picture is the best possible next step. Also, I'm currently in a bit of pain and the medication I'm taking is fscking worthless, so my replies today might be a bit harsher than normal... but still technically sound unless my mind is more clouded than I think it is.
