I honestly cant say. However your company may want to think of this. They are spending a considerable amount of money for the software alone. Shouldn't that same consideration be given to the hardware? Nobody is going to be happy with the current scenario once it is in place. And as Ed said, since the hardware is history, if you have a hardware issue, you are liable to find yourself stuck between a rock and a hard place. Nobody is going to want to wait a week while you bid on RAID board from eBay. I would urge your company or whoever to either think about holding off on this project until you can get the funds for a server, or spend the money on one now.
