I know this may be a bad forum for this, but since your box is so outdated and you have a very limited budget, have you thought of using Linux and sendmail/qmail/postfix etc for email and squirrelmail/imp/ etc for webmail? This would allow you to use your current hardware with no expense other than your time and (maybe) a slight learning curve.
