Not really, just restore the previous full and replay the logs. You should have the store on one redundant array, and your logs on another. This should protect you from both drive and array failures.

The reason being is that incremental do not commit and flush the transaction logs. Only a full backup will do that. In addition, you will want to familiarize yourself with this: http://www.microsoft.com/exchange/techinfo/administration/55/BackupResto re.a sp Unless you use a different version of Exchange in which case you will what to find the appropriate DR whitepaper. You should setup a DR server to test these processes on. By server I mean any spare PC that has enough disk space. Just to learn it. -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Eric Fretz Sent: Wednesday, December 03, 2003 7:27 AM To: Exchange Discussions Subject: Backup rituals What backup rituals do you guys use on your Exchange sites? I've looked through the FAQs and read most of the relevant Microsoft Qxxx articles on Exchange administration, but I haven't found "the" way to do good backups. My first blush is to backup the entire databases + logs once a week and then backup the incremental changes to the logs daily. All suggestions, snide remarks and pithy one-liners are welcome...
