i totally agree with kamal, gurdwara managment these days are with the people
who are only intrested in using the funds for thier personal benefits rather
using for neede persons and bro if you saw someone neede than you should have
done something and i am always there for this. i beileve that everthing has
been given by god blessing and one should help the person who needs help and
thats the true sikh.

I am really surprised how all of my fellow Friends are picking one point of
there choice and then using it to make there point of NK.....

1. Would anyone of us prefer a gurudawara with a torn or bad condition
Carpet... then many will crib to the highest extent.. so if some one is taking
care of the carpet then others are taking care of the sick lady... Most
important all this is done in the gurudawara only...
2. Langaars are always free to all.. rich poor homeless and for anyone.. don't
you think huge amount of money effort and seva is spent on them...3. i agree
wasting of food in NK is wrong.. but my fellow Friend pointing out did
something to prevent it while attending NK or suggested it to the concerned
people organising it ( taking out time of there busy schl....)
4. If this tradition would have not been alive from the last so man decades..
then the awareness would have not been possible to do the same NK in all other
countries.. USA, UK, Canada to name a few..

Giving money to needy is good but that is not all, My suggestion is to all my
fellow Friends should go to any gurudawara ( near or far) and do some kind of
seva, maybe Jooda ghar or langgar.. i think that will mend there mind towards
the understanding of Sikhism more..

and this not only my view but he views of all the people you see in NK in India
or abroad...

Stop saying Start doing... Kamal ( A soulful Sikh)...

interesting to note how everyone adds a disclaimer!!
Yes the money spent on one Nk can be utilised in many better ways.....one
particular incident which comes to mind now that you mentioned rajouri
is....couple of years back when i used to go to rajouri garden gurudwara
everyday before work .....a lady used to sit near the shoe stall in winters on
cold marble with her young son with a terminal illness seeking finacial aid.All
that the Gurdwara could do to help her was to allow her to sit and seek alms
from people which was coming in form of 10 rs notes or an occasional 50/100rs
note .and at the same time the darbar hall of the gurdwara was being redone
with wall to wall carpert removing perfectly fine old one.I did what I could do
to best of my capacity but was particularly distressed at attiude of one of
the richest Gurdwara's of the Capital ,which instead of helping the young
mother was busy presenting sarapoa to the gentleman who had foot the bill of Rs
three lacs for the carpet !!!

I agree . religion is best in the religious places like gurudwara, temples or
our houses.Apart from the traffic does anyone even evaluate the wastage of food
which happens on such processions. My thoughts go to the one in rajouri where
wastage of food is an understatement!!!Again my Personal Views !!!!

Touche'. Sensitive is the right word. One man's music, they say, is another
man's noise.In a recent conversation, a half-sardar said that the prabhat feri
is a nuisance to his sleep pattern as well. Thats a small price to pay for
democracy and freedom of speech/expression which comes with it , herbie. Though
, i am all in favour of banning all forms of PDA( Public Day of
Affliction)..Religion is such a personal matter. Why does it need to be
expressed to the world?Disclaimer: But then again, these are just my views :).
