Yes, that's possible.  And given that Debian are claiming
it's 4.88, which we have not released yet - we don't actually
know if the source code it was built with is up to date.
It'd be interesting to compare against master HEAD, if the
source they used is available.

Quite likely, given BDAT and PIPELINING.  That's pretty much why
the state-machine has to lock up on error.
