[expert] KFM and ftp

Using KFM to connect to my ftp site, I can drag and drop files from the server
to my local pc, but not the other way around - the file names get there, but
all files are zero length. The old console ftp sends files just fine, but I
would much rather drag and drop - there are a lot of files to move, and 
lots of typos to make.

I may be imagining things, but I think this used to work. Could I have changed
something to break it?
