Under Kppp's account setup for your connection, you probably have it set to
autoconfigure the hostname from the allocated IP.  This will change the
hostname of your machine "on the fly", and will break Xauth.  If you turn this
off, and leave your machine set to it's default hostname, you shoudn't have any
problems.  You can turn it off under the "IP" tab of your account's setup
dialog.
