Then perhaps someone at MandrakeSoft will "optimize" this in the next
release?
Other distros also seem to have different monitor selections - why can't
Mandrake include them all in it's database?
And as long as I'm on the subject, Helios does not come with support for
1.6M or 1.7M floppies (nothing in /dev/), does not come with current
versions of rawrite.exe or rawwrite.exe and has dropped tomsrtbrt (which
should have been included as an .img file that could be used with rawrite).
All these things would seem to be in the tradition of mandrake, i.e a distro
"done better".
Still, aside from a few install glitches, 6.1 is a great distro. It just
needs some fine-tuning rather than loading it up with additional apps.
Mandrakeuser.org is becoming a very useful web site. I like what I see
there: concise and well-presented. I hope to make a few contributions
myself.
