I have MANDRAKE 7.0, Kernel 2.2.14-15mdk installed.
Everything works EXCEPT .......my HP 7200e (that;'s external)
I've tried it, it does not work. Only my scsi cdrom responds.
Here's my story ......
Internal hardware:
hda: Maxtor 91360D9, ATA DISK drive
hdb: WDC AC33100H, ATA DISK drive
hdc: LS-120 CSMO 05 UHD Floppy, ATAPI FLOPPY drive
I have internal SCSI installed
scsi id 5 PLEXTOR CD-ROM PX-32TS - This is my primary CDROM
scsi id 6 IBM DCAS-34330W - This is my primary HARDDRIVE (2 parts -
sda1, sda5)
parport is installed. I have an external HP 694C printer on the end of
my
parallel port chain.
My HP 7200e is in between the computer and printer.
I can not get my computer to recognize my cdrw.
I've tried "mount -t iso9660 /dev/scd0 /mnt/cdrw"
And it only re-mounts my primary cdrom, which of course is now mounted
twice.
(Actually, I tried everything I've read and more than I wanted too.)
I keep thinking that if the CDRW requires ide-scsi support, I should try
and make my scsi adapter see it, to define an ID for it.
HELP !! I CAN NOT GET THIS TO WORK, and I'll bet it's something
SO SIMPLY !!
Included with this request for HELP is a copy of my dmesg and fstab
file.
Thanks for creative suggestions.
BTY - I've read all the documentation and ton's of newsgroup postings,
NOTHING has helped so far.
