Problem - 'misc' fonts are not in your path.

Problem - fixed fonts are not available.

So, since X can't find the fonts it is being told to use, it won't start.

You can comment out the lines in /etc/XF86Config if you don't need these
fonts (although IIRC, 'fixed' fonts are necessary).

Go to www.mandrakeuser.org and look at the page on installing TrueType
fonts; it will tell you how to uset the commands to fix your fonts.
