yes I did yet ANOTHER INSTALL grrrrrrr! I saw after it posted I didn't say
that I had done it...what was that???? 907 908???? LOL I can install
Mandrake 7.1 in my sleep now...
my problem is that I don't understand why all the equipment works perfectly
in other distros and versions.....and not in Mandrake 7.1....that is why I
have called it and still call it a bug....I have so many Linux flavors here
it's starting to get scary....but I like Mandrake and hoped to be able to
use 7.1 but the possibility/probability seems to grow smaller by the day 7.0
is a nice distro....doesn't have the nice sound support that 7.1 has for my
sblive and is lacking in a couple of other small areas....7.1 is definately
nicer, but in the same breath I have to say nightmarish at the same
time...how do you run any os these days without cdrom support? I don't want
to and frankly can't afford to replace that drive right now...who knows get
another drive and have the same problem rear it's ugly head again.....
I do learn a little more every day about the os....but with what appears to
be an insurmountable problem....I might be just as wise to go back to 7.0
and wait for 7.2 or what ever comes next and hope there is a fix in it?
