Another thing to consider....were talking UNIX based systems here....
theres nothing that can't be upgraded even if there is something in 7.1
you really want, grab an RPM and install it...if thats not working...grab
the source and compile it.
About the backward compatibility issue....isn't that why Win9x is such a
dog...it had to be compatible with evverything that went before?
Granted it's an odd bug, and if it is ocurring regularly over the
user-base I have no doubt Mandrakesoft will fix it eventually simply to
make sure that next year they still have a user base, All I can suggest
is
either stay 7.0 and upgrade software according to your needs or try
another distro until you hear the response has been fixed, then decide if
you want to come back to Mandrake or keep your new one...
