Hi!

I have one question that I hope somebody could answer me. I have an
IDE zip drive and a PIII 550 with 128Mb with an
everything-motherboard, my mdk installation is (still) 6.1,
But this weekend I'll upgrade. Well, when I mount a zip disk onto the
/mnt/zip, and I copy a reasonable amount of data (i.e. 50Mb) I can't to
nothing else. Well, actually, I can do everything: change between windows,
edit text, or whatever else I'd be doing at the moment, but
s-l-o-w-l-y.

The same thing happens when I copy large amounts of data
between two partitions of the hard drive, namely 200Mb.

I wander if I can change the priority of this kind of job. I think
is more usefull for me doing something else while copying instead of a
cuasi-frozen system during a couple of minutes.

I also want to know if the motherboard is guilty of being slowing
down the system. I heard that the performance of such things is not very
well.

      Thanks in advance!!!
