I've got Mandrake 7.0-i486 running, and I wanna upgrade my glibc packages from 2.1.2-10 to 2.1.3-19, or whatever the latest build is, and I can only find rpm's for i586 class from Mandrake's site. Redhat i386 RPMs don't work cause rpm says the 2.1.2-10mdk is newer than 2.1.3-19 (which isn't right), and I don't know if I should --force these to install. Attempts to build an rpm from SRPM have failed miserably, cause after about 10 hours of compiling, it dies suddenly with the error of "fg: no job control", and I don't wanna try the straight source compile cause I am told it fairly difficult. My box has the following: 1 Intel dx4-100 overdrive (47.99 bogomips) 20mb RAM 128kb external cache 1 5.24gb Maxtor harddrive Keyboard and monitor optionally connected when needed and a 8x CD-ROM drive + floppy Runs Mandrake 7.0-i486 (Air) Kernel 2.2.17 If anyone has any suggestions, lemme know, cause well, I'm not a total newbie to linux, but I'm no intermediate or expert either, so I'm hoping to learn.. --Kumba __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
