No problem. It's considered rude for three reasons I can think of:
1. It takes a lot more space to convey and display a message using HTML than
plain text.
2. You can't be sure that the fonts you've used will be available on the
reader's system. Typically, HTML mail shows up on my desktop (using KMail) in
extremely small type. Frankly, I usually don't bother reading it -- which
isn't good for you if I might be able to help you.
3. Spam HTML mail sometimes "calls home" in a way that indicates to the
sender that their message has been received. Not likely in a discussion list
like this, but it's given HTML mail generally a pretty bad reputation.
Cheers.
