Konqueror cannot handle my web mail interface (javascript issues) that I have
to use for one of my accounts. It is an Outlook web interface that uses
javascript. Netscape and Mozilla handle it perfectly. Konqueror cannot do
it at all. It allows me to login but will not display the actual mail page
because it screws up javascript AND because it INSISTS on downloading damn
pages instead of opening them.
>From kmail, trying to open web pages fails. KDE used to open it with Quanta
(STUPID DEFAULT SETTING BY THE WAY!). I fixed the file association so that
Konqueror would do it. IT DOESN'T. Instead, it STUPIDLY downloads the
frickin' web site and then complains that "file:/home/praedor/<the website>"
doesn't exist. DUH! If it would just open the damn website instead of
jacking off trying to download it and then open it...
Anyway, konqueror is OK for many sites, but for many others (which happen to
be rather important to my usage needs) IT SUCKS. Opera MUST be better than
it is. Mozilla is bigger and slower but it works. Opera is small and
supposedly very fast. If it can do what konqueror simply doesn't do then I
will quickly dump konqueror in favor of Opera, even if I have to pay.
