I would PREFER (very much) to be able to use konqueror for everything on the
web, including my one Outlook webmail interface. I must use this site, there
is no option...and the site is not some Microsnot-sabotaged javascript site,
if it were, they would have screwed Netscape/Mozilla with a broken javascript
implementation. It is a generic site at my university setup to work with any
system with a webbrowser that supports javascript. Konqueror will permit the
initial page to display (it is not https, for which I do have support, by the
way). It will bring up the login dialog and accept the username and password
too. At THAT point it is broken:
I get a save dialog (?!) Asking:
Open http://ms.hg.utah.edu/...w=0&mailbox=praedor?
If I choose "open" it then brings up the dialog so that I have to choose what
app to open it with. I choose konqueror (I have also tried "kfmclient
openProfile webbrowsing" to the same result). It then DOWNLOADS the damn
page and tries to open it but craps out with:
Unable to run the command specified. The file or directory
file:/home/praedor/.kde/share/apps/kfmexec/tmp/1507.0.LogonFrm.asp does not
exist.
It should be opening the page, NOT downloading it and trying to open some
ghost of it. OF COURSE it is failing because it is not opening web pages the
way it should, but trying to open non-existent local files.
What setting in konqueror fixes this. This is related to the problem
konqueror has with opening kmail links. My file associations are correct.

Against stupidity, the god's themselves contend in vain.
