I would assume you need to untar the file as well. "tar xf
j2re-1.3.0-FCS-linux-i386.tar" should do the trick. You should then end up with
a "j2re" directory with several supdirectories below this such as "bin".
This probably doesn't belong on the "expert" list. In fact, I believe Blackdown
offers a faq or installation instructions on their site.
