Why do you say that. I've hd nothing but good luck with Maxtor hardrives.
I currently have a ten, 2 twenties, and 1 thirty at home that are running
just fine. Then at work we use Maxtor drives in our test machines, which
get beaten on relentlessly. Only one of those drives ever died, and that
was only because one of our part time testers dropped the sucker on the
floor.
As far as Western Digital drives go, I've owned two, and I'll never use
another. Though the two I have are still working, barely, one of them
won'ttake the NTFS filesystem anymore, and the other won't run as a
master.
