FWIW, OpenOffice638, 641, StarOffice6.0 and StarOffice5.2 all installed 
without a hitch (except, of course, JAVA). JAVA works OK with SO 5.2 and 6.0..
I used the JAVA JRE that came in the SO6.0 download for all the above.
All are currently installed and I don't notice any conflicts <yet> <G>..
