some info from mine. from modules.conf
above snd-emu10k1 snd-pcm-oss alias sound-slot-0 emu10k1 The second line was put in during the 9.0 beta tests because of a runaway sound-slot-1 sound-slot-2 etc etc... Never removed don't know if the bug was squashed or not. As for my loaded modules emu10k1 ac97_codec sound soundcore The last 3 are shown as being used by the first one. As for the exactmodel I'm using 01:0d.0 Multimedia audio controller: Creative Labs SB Live! EMU10k1 (rev 08) 01:0d.1 Input device controller: Creative Labs SB Live! MIDI/Game Port (rev 08) One thing I've never been able to get working is kde acknowledging the existence of this card in it's hardware profile section. If I get it working there, I lose sound. For now... the box makes the appropriate noises and I'm happy enough.
