I was somewhat *startled* to discover that the drivers for Windows 98 and
Windows ME both had substantial problems. I sent the card back to ATI for
replacement when the first card wouldn't initialize the BIOS. They were very
good, actually, about troubleshooting the card, and about getting me another
card. That *really* surprised me, given the bad experiences I had in the
past.

After getting this card working with xawtv earlier this evening, and after
consideration of what praise you gave for Hauppage cards, I may simply get a
Hauppage card for my own use. The guy whose system now has a working ATI card
is happy, and now that I've had a bit of experience with xawtv and the
interfaces involved, I'm feeling a lot more confident about it.

Thanks. The ATI card is working, although perhaps not as well as I'd like it
tow work. However, I think for my own use, I'm simply going to go get a
Hauppage card and see how that works out.
