Lorne, as a newbie I found the old setup rather frightening.  I was 
always afraid that I didn't really understand it, and wasn't 
absolutely sure whether I was about to install or uninstall 
something.  I think it was the anxiety of a newbie at work, but I 
found it a great relief to have a clearer indication of what I was 
doing.

It's all in the perspective of where you are, I guess.
