Kaspersky may not catch spyware or a Trojan. These tend to hang
around, as you are describing, and often hide VERY well.

If she is directly connected to the net, with no firewall, I would
rate that as a very severe risk. Just being connected is enough. No
email or surfing is required. It is NOT uncommon for a brand new XP
computer to be infected within an hour of being connected to the net.
The more you describe, the more it seems like it may be this kind of
problem.

Think about non-email sources of the problem, too.
