Many source packages may still want to build against that version, it's
best to leave it installed.

As you read in the autoconf README, most developers will provide for
choosing the appropriate version in their config scripts, but you can't
always rely on that.

IIRC, one way around it if this is the case, is to run "aclocal"
before you run ./configure.
