Very interesting. Why would Hoosier want to continue building 10" tires any more than Goodyear? Now it's up to them to decide if we run 10's or 13's. Perhaps it's part of a 1-2 punch so the tire companies can *actually* profit from building tires for us. Profit is not a bad thing.

If we do get hung with 13" tires I'll be mostly happy for the change. Rims really aren't that expensive and good quality rims are easier to find. I just hope Hoosier or whomever would make so 19-20" diameter tires so our chassis don't have to change much.

A little birdie on the inside has told me that Goodyear has stopped production of 10"
tires. This was discussed at the FSAE event this weekend in Michigan. They used up the full
stock of tires and some teams then had to go to Hoosier. The Goodyear people suggested that
teams plan on construction with 13" wheels instead. Since the diameter between 13 and
10" tires is limited, they expect little transition problems for most teams.

Now how long will Hoosier hold out? I suspect few problems since they are the
dominent player in the itsy bitsy tire size market.
