FWIW...I avoid using an impact as a clutch puller unless absolutely
necessary. I remember once telling Doug Marsh that I was having a tough
time getting a clutch off and he warned against use of impact because of
potential crank/bearing damage.

I do believe impact wrenches have a place (I have a Chicago Pneumatics
that works very well), but, the nut/bolt head on the primary clutch is
probably not one of them. That bolt is connected to the crank which is
held in bearings. The bearings will not appreciate the impact. I have a
TRA clutch, bought the tool to hold the clutch and then use a long bar.
Steer clear of anything from Harbor Freight. Several years ago Neal
Spieler
was using a Harbor Freight electric Impact wrench to snug the lug nuts
on
his F500.....as he was using it the gear case housing shattered throwing
bits and pieces all over the area. Harbor Freight may have price, but
they
don't have quality for any price.
