MM,

With your quote below, I wanted to point out that your comments on cost and engine availability are not accurate for FF. With new pistons, cranks heads being produced and used, service life is estimated to be 40-50 hours with the cost of a rebuild between 2-4000 as a consistent range (between the four big engine builders). A lot of effort and thought was put into the engine issue, and the results are evident in the availability,
longevity, and costs.

Quote " I would guess that this depends more on what happens with FF than anything else. FF has engine availability and cost troubles as it is. If F600 comes into being as a replacement for FF, it is not beyond comprehension that the three (FF, F500, F600) could be lumped into a single class. The lap times are pretty close between FF and F500 already. If this happened, I have a feeling
that an F500 under today's rules would look like a pretty good option for
someone who can set it up and drive it....;-) End Quote"
