Right before I bought my first open-wheeler, I was watching one of the local Charlotte Legends events on cable - I was considering my options, and Legends looked pretty good. That night, one of the drivers had a fairly minor collision that ended up burning the car down. He barely managed to get himself out of the car, and was severely burned - he was fully engulfed in flames, and was well and truly on fire when he finally go out. When my wife and I saw that, Legends became a non-starter.
