Not fiction but, definitely an exaggeration (in SCCA legal config.). Probably more in the neighborhood of ~100.

An AMW, with larger carbs and twin exhaust was ALLEGEDLY capable of ~140hp. It had pretty big ports and a robust set of reeds. I would assume the Rotax would have a similar benefit (like it matters).

Speaking of HP, I had a solo Vee competitor tell me on Sunday that "the
rotax engine" (not sure of 494 or 493) was actully a 110 hp engine but has
to be detuned for SCCA to use it in road racing and autocross. Truth or
fiction?
