Sure sounds like a great Solo II combo!
Thanks Chris
Also I am not trying to scare people, just passing on information that
everyone needs to hear!
Lack of knowledge and not sharing it is a dangerous thing!

Also, Chuck is correct, by the time F500 goes to 4-stroke neither of us will
most likely be driving one! Sure would be nice to go out on a Sunday and
see a Solo II event and see several Invaders, Arrows, Novakar, etc. racing
around with 4-stroke engines.
Not trying to start trouble by saying this, but many of the guys who drive
stock street cars with factory mufflers would love to see all the mod cars
go away, well at least in New England. Were starting to feel like the bad
boy motorcycle gang type because we still want to drive formula cars at Solo
II Events!!!!

Couple of key things in this thread please be aware.
Motocross aka the AMA does not "Mandate" 4 cycles, yes there are near
twice the displacement, but everybody knows the power pulse mathematics
from 4 to 2 stroke 1/2. The reason for the dominance of 4 cycles is the
fact that they are faster for a number of reasons. In a motocross bike
it's not about top speed or massive horse power, its corner to corner, or
corner to jump acceleration, and it's also about traction.
However there are lakes that "Mandate" 4 cycle or electric only...

Was at the local Honda/Suzuki checking on see if the 2007 bike I ordered
was
in yet. Would like to ride it a little before the real bad weather.
I was talking to one of the owners, they also sell Yamaha and Bombardier
watercraft (summer cousins to snowmobile). We got talking about which
engines we currently use and he asked me what are you guys going to do
for
new
engines after 2008 when Bombardier is scheduled to stop making 2-Stroke
CVT
equipped Snowmobile's and all their models will by then be replaced with
4-Stroke CVT equipped engines. I said don't ask!
This is a rather small shop but they had almost every model of Honda and
Suzuki motorcycle. The only 2-stroke engine thing he had in the shop was
one
model of Yamaha Watercraft! Something to again think about. I would say
if
you go to a former NER f500 divers place of employment in Mass. where
they
sell many Bombardier Snowmobile's he would say the same thing.
Not trying to get people pissed off, but time waits for no man and time
is
flying by us! We are several years behind the curve.
Motocross is almost fully switched to 4-stroke bikes.
Only because it is mandated and your didn't mention that the 4-stroke dirt
bikes have engines twice the displacment of the 2-strokes to be
competitive.
Watercraft and outboard motors are not far
behind!
Starting to talk about it without everyone blowing a fuse is the only way
for
all you younger people to keep this class going. I and others are near
the
end of the game, but still care deeply about a class that has brought us
so
much fun and friendship for a reasonable price. Plus you can't put a
price
on
all the great people we have met in person or talked to on this site!
Everyone have a good and safe holiday season!

PS: This is not about 4-stroke bike engines for our class. This is only
about thinking about 4-stroke CVT equipped Rotax Snowmobile Engines even
if
it
takes five (5) or more years of careful planning!
