There are cable operated chokes that you can install in place of your lever chokes, but...usually the cables are short so the ones I've seen used get mounted on the firewall.
I can't reach mine if I'm strapped in and I wondered if you couldn't get one made to a specific length. It looks as though you can get throttle cables made to order so maybe you can do the same with choke. I haven't investigated yet, because I've got more than enough other problems to keep me occupied. 8-)
