I successfully mounted a set of F500 tires with the Harbour Freight Tool and
a friends help. I was using Jeff Moench's tool which he has conveniently
mounted on a trailer receiver bar which holds the whole deal nice and stable
by installing it into the RV's hitch receiver.
It is much easier to be successful if you have a helper. The pointed end of
the bar is used to remove tires (you probably did this with no problem).
The other end is used to mount the tires. The curved side that faces you
goes on the outside of the rim, and the curved side that faces out goes on
the tire's bead. Get the first side of the tire on the rim by pushing hard,
then lubricate the second bead with something slippery. put the tool
between the rim and the bead, and get your friend to hold the bead tight
against the rim so it doesn't rotate as you rotate the tool around the
center post. As the bead starts to go onto the rim, you will have to push
the side of the tire that has already rolled onto the bead in tight against
the inside of the rim to make enough room for the bead to stretch over the
rim. After a little practice, it is not too hard to master. By the way,
the mounting tool only works while rotating in one direction ( I this it was
clockwise if looking down from the top)
Good luck!

Subject: [F500] Mounting tires - help!
I have a Harbor Freight mounting tool (the bigger one). I cannot figure out
how to get the tires mounted. I read the instructions and they don't make
sense. My son and I tried numerous times, but the tires just rotate around
the edge of the rim. Please help me figure this out. Thanks.
