Ed,

I ran my own business for 25 years and am not a big fan of government !

In 15 minutes I'll pick up my wife at the airport - she's spent the last five days on the left coast teaching people how to survey long term care and hospice facilities - she works for Medicaid and Medicare ! Last year this particular wing of the government suffered 60 billion dollars in fraud - yes 60 billion and has done so since its inception !

We've got the FBI, the CIA,the DEA plus all sorts of county and state police lurking all over the place and yet any 10 year old can buy any drug they want on any street corner any time they want it !

We've got foreign governments using "K St" lobbing firms forms getting better treatment that tax paying Americans, Bush sez were a country of laws yet they're pouring across the southern border while he sits in DC with his digit up his anus !

I'm sure the beer bellied cop from Canada will eventually turn this into a "for profit " enterprise - I just hope they catch some car thieves first !

Go figure !

Tanks,
Gil

I know it is not everywhere but in NJ they have Lojack which does a good job of locating cars right away rather than hoping the stolen car is parked out in the open or happens to drive by. On-Star can do the same thing if a car has it. As far as crime goes suppose the car was used in a felony in CA and then sold. I believe the plates remain with the car. Unsuspecting new buyer is on his way home and gets stopped by the now infamous LAPD. Would they resort to extreme measures (beat down) if the poor slob objects? While I know there are security and other issues I still do not like the ever increasing erosion of our freedom by govenmental authority.
