Chuck, We had a guy in a Spec Racer Ford fracture both thumbs after hitting a wall. That steering wheel turns into a "Ronco Vegematic" when the right forces are put upon it. Get well soon, might see you at Roebling. Eric -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: [email protected] Sent: Sat, 13 Jan 2007 3:14 PM Subject: RE: [F500] Re: NOT A GOOD START
Richard - Once I acknowledged to myself what was happening I tried to remove my hands from the steering yoke, however, with my right hand being down against my lower body in a right hand turn, and probably my pitifully slow realization of exceeding my abilities of catching the spin, I wasn't able to get my right hand far enough away from the steering yoke to prevent the injury. I was able to get my left hand, which wasn't down against my body at the time, a clear distance from the yoke. In as much as I was about 10 feet from the wall when the spin started there was not a whole lot of time for this feeble brained dolt to put all the pieces of the puzzle together.
