There are a few instructors that teach to cross you arms to the chest and take 
your feet off the pedals just before you crash.  It's the hardest thing to do.  
Why don't drunks get hurt in crashes.  No resistance to the forces.  Moving you 
hands and feet from where they can get hurt is a smart move.  In my f500 there 
is no place too put my feet.

I always like the incar views on TV when they show a car crashing into a
wall or whatever,  of course these a almost always pro's, so maybe it comes
with conditioning, but I notice that most if not all, get their hands off
the wheel just before the big Boom.
