It doesn't take much to bend an axle. Bob Gelles's son used my car as a brake
once going into the chicane at Daytona a few years ago. All it did was spin me
out and bend the axle and rim. I also had a CSR bump my rr tire at Hallet
going into a turn back in 1997. I barely felt it, but it bent the axle. It
makes sense that the jackshaft would be resier to bend because of it's smaller
size, but I've never had one bend, probably because it's better protected
within the chassis.

car for the coming season, I found I had
a bent rear axle. It's bent right near the middle. Early last year, I found
my jack shaft was bent also. This leads me to believe that the car must have
been in a wreck once. Does anyone out there know of a wreck involving my
car? (formerly George Harmuth's Zink 22) Out of curiosity, how hard a lick
does it take to bend a 1.25 inch shaft like this? Would a person even
survive a wreck like that?!
