I had a 86 Astro, best van I ever had!!! I loaded my kart and everything I
own in it, no trailer. 40mph, or 90mph, empty or full, 20 mpg!!!
I saw a couple of websites with hot rodded V8 conversions , those guys are
not right...

I tow a 14 foot dual axle trailer with my V-6 Astro Van with the tow/haul
package. The only real problem was the steep grades on the way to Kansas in
Penn! Trailer tows great. Of course if I were to keep the van long enough
it will get a V-8 like my friend did to his older Astro. When you put the
V-8 in you can find one of the Chevy engines that bolts to the current
trans. Also front part of the engine is easier to work on after you put the
V-8 in, plus it will pull my trailer like it wasn't there!
