I've seen both types but have never actually mounted the Ski-Doo version with the integrated solenoid. I think there is a difference in the mounting brackets required. The Ski-Doo starter with the solenoid piggy-backed is a very expensive part. The separate motor and solenoid are much less expensive, and probably lighter, depending on the starter motor you get. You can contact Q for a complete electric start system, or if you want to piece your own together, I'd still recommend getting the bracket from Q. The factory brackets are stamped steel and are known to crack. -Jeff B.
