1. From what I have read in this list, RAVE 494s are not allowed by SCCA in F5, amazingly, even with the RAVE valves removed and the ports blocked. RAVE stands for ROTAX Adjustable Valve Exhaust and other 2-stroke sled engines have variants... the general name is Power Valves..see http://www.snowtechmagazine.com/articles/april_2001/snwtchnlgy/ stchnlgy.php, All are intended to improve low end torque, which makes little difference in our application. 2. I believe that all 493s have reed intakes and RAVE exhaust; there are no non-RAVE 493s. 3. That was my question too. 4. I agree.
