Hi Dave,

I wondered where you were. Hope you had fun. I know it's been a barrel of
monkeys here :-).

Dave, our goal is to update the Vees so that they can be competitive with
our cars. Doesn't mean they have to be class champion but just that they
have to be in the hunt. At the present time, they are not. The results over
the past years support that.

I'm sure you have read the comments about Nardin so I won't go over our
position on that issue. We can't protect people from a Nardin or a Kramar or
a Voboril. So there's no point in going there. But we can try to maintain
what this class was all about when it was formed; and that was a promise of
parity. Drivers have to beat other drivers, we can't move that out of the
equation.

We have no problem with comments, even negative ones if presented
appropriately and specifically backed by supportable information, not wild
ass guesses. But some feel they have to say something that questions our
integrity to get their message across :-(.

We do not think that these proposed mods will make them a C Mod car or a
killer F Mod car. We obviously think that they will improve the Vees status
in the class. It's our job to maintain parity, which is currently lacking.

Ok, how much time is an LSD/locked rear worth on a 50 second course? I don't
know, every course is different, every car is different, every surface is
different. We have to look at the entire picture and then make a decision.
That's not such an easy thing to do. You should hear the comments about that
possibility from the Vees and why it's going to cost them a $1000.00 and
possibly more weight just to have the same ability to put power down as the
500s do ;-(.

You talk about tight corners; they are at a disadvantage compared to us.
They are a much larger car and get to sling a basic 200 more pounds around
with a 1938 design for their suspension and front end components. Will a
LSD/locked rear help? Yes. Will it overcome their size and inability to get
through those sections as we do, no, I don't think so. I guess that doesn't
enter into the picture for some of us :-).
It amazes me - then again maybe not - that some in the F Mod 500 group
scream that all this will make the Vee a killer and their cars outdated. The
Vees, on the other hand, feel that these options won't do hardly enough to
allow them to run with the 500s. So the MAC collectively get to play Solomon
and I get to spend quality time with John :-). Something I needed to do in
my life :-). Someone once said that "If both sides are upset, then we are on
the right track."

Bottom line here Dave is, we have to do something and we would prefer to
make a slower car faster then a faster car slower. Of course, as John says,
that's probably a stupid idea :-). Everybody has an opinion but essentially
our goal is to bring them somewhat into the world of a more modern formula
car.

Now as for the Kawi, what would you prefer, nitrous, a turbo, or a
supercharger? Maybe Voboril as a contract driver? We're easy, a real
pushover, just ask :-).

Art,
I've been away playing for a few days but just took time to read the MAC
proposed changes for the vees, I think you guys maybe just got snookered!
I've only driven two vees( about 10 runs total) and one was a complete turd
lacking only dull brown paint, but the addition of the limited slip in
itself is going to be worth a fair amount off tight corners. Both cars I
drove wanted to spin the inside wheel.
How much time are you looking to give them on say a 50 second course, 1/2
second....1 second.....2 seconds?
Is the goal to move them into C-mod?
I don't really care how this comes out, but if you do and want to make
things fair maybe give em the chassis OR the engine mods, but not both.
BTW....when was the last time a Kaw powered car won a well attended tour or
the Nationals....what are you going to do for them?
