No problem for anything except the cost associated with making the centers.

When we did the 1st NovaKar wheels we wound up going with a vendor from the
west coast (he has retired). I machined the spinning tools except for the
thread for his spinner head. That is how we made affordable wheels. in 15
years we have never failed an original NovaKar wheel even on the new
Rakavon.

I recently had a quote from a supplier to make more NovaKar wheels & the
centers were about $75 each for qty 10. The price goes down a lot for
bigger quantity. So if you figure it out for 50 wheels it is about
$50/(center) + $70/(2 rim rim halves) + labor to assemble & seal you have
about $150/wheel. Not bad for a really good wheel but then you have to sell
them & pack & ship them etc. I would be VERY happy to pay $100 my cost for
wheels I can sell to my customers for $150 but at that price there are no
buyers in F500. Tough to make it happen unless you can order a HUGE
quantity of wheels.

The long & short of it is that top quality wheels cost a lot of $$$. The
best wheel for the price is the Douglas wheel but they have serious runout
problems IMHO.

If you want to make your own wheels I suggest that you buy Weld halves &
make your own centers. You can then make a top quality wheel with your free
labor for about $100 each.

Champion & Keizer also make F500 wheels. Kenny Price makes his own center &
wheel assemblies. Give them a try.

F500 is a very tough business to sell cars or parts for SCCA racers. Most
of us are very low bucks racers & unless you can buy whatever it is for next
to nothing the price is always too much.

BTW our Rakavon is still for sale & is the lowest priced car available that
can win a national championship in ANY SCCA CLASS. Still I am sure there
are plenty of guys out there who are certain that they can buy a $5000 car &
win at the Runoffs.

Jay, what's the difficulty/cost of coming up with a CNC program for the
centers???

I built a prototype wheel from Weld rims at one time. They are plenty
strong to get the job done if you make a good center.

Chris and others,
I checked with Weld Racing today and they told me they have
nothing for our applications, some were close.
2 interesting things though, a 10 by 4 outer shell was $54 bucks
without beadlock. American aluminum must cost a lot less
than that Canadian stuff, surprising they can even afford to put
their beer in cans anymore! Anyway, Weld also has what they call a
direct mount
wheel in 10 x 8 for about $85. I could be tempted to get one
and cut a center for it out of a piece of 2024 that I have. Would
be a pretty quick project with the rotary table on the mill.
Anybody have a clue as to the loads a mini sprinter puts on
wheels compared to a F500?
