I already checked with Tony on this & he states that the engine is exclusive
to BMW. However you never know what the future will bring. BMW is very big
into Motorsports.

Maybe Tony can push the right buttons. If I could get one it would be in
one of my cars in a flash. It may not have enough power though.

I like the idea of a relatively low revving twin with the right HP it might
be the ticket.

Thanks ... Jay Novak

As quoted from your link

"Engine
The engine is also a completely new design. It was developed in cooperation
with Bombardier-Rotax GmbH. It is manufactured in the Austrian Rotax plant
and is delivered to the Berlin production line ready-for-assembly."

Were we to go this route, Rotax would still be the supplier!

Chris, have your info wrong. The new BMW 800 is a transverse twin with a
belt final drive. Perfect for what we need. Very small & light with 6
speed sequential shift gearbox. See this link:

Unless you mount the motor sideways, it won't fit. It's a inline 4
cylinder, lined up from front back, not transverse like a jap motor...

I know very little about the BMW engine except that in stock form with a
catylic converter it makes about 85 hp. I threw it out there because it fits
our needs (I think) Just a thought starter at this time.

Jay:

You make the most sense and articulate your ideas and suggestions quite
logically!

Personally I like the idea of the BMW motor. Do you think the same
driveshaft configuration will work, this eliminating the chain??? The only
other change I would like to see is a front and rear wing.

Thanks!
