Ya know, when I look at the sound sheets after a race, my 2-stroke typically has one of the lower numbers listed in my group (all Formula and Sports Racer). So the "loud" argument is crap. Yes, it's a different sound, just like the vaunted 600cc bike engine is a different sound. Any time anyone tells you your car is "too loud" hand them the sound sheet. They ARE noisier in the paddock because we can't pull away at an idle, but on the track they are not.
