Hi folks, Would anyone like to provide me with the basis of a class overview for F500 that I can post as a 'Sticky' at the top of the F500 'General Discussion' forum on EFCN.

Getting interested people into a car for a ride is a big help too. once you get an interested person out there, thier usually either hooked or tell you your crazy. I am usually the one that posts the reality of the board denying any improvements in this class as other classes get plenty of rule changes and attention, but recently i have decided to try and pitch in and help instead of just bitch about it. I think an arrive and drive F500 type promotion would be awesum, and if we were smart about it, and the way it was prepped you get some serious exposure for the investment. attach some type of charity to it and boom your in the news. I also think the economy has a lot to do with the drop in numbers for the class, a lot of people running 500 are usually running on the edge of the available $$ they have for fun stuff, wondering where they were going to get tire money etc. that was the case with me back in 94 when i started in F500, had to skip races cuz i didnt have any tire left. Jay novak had made a post, asking for ideas on how to cut cost to run F500 well i think this is an important issue and some more effort should be put into that as well ! Some guys were teaming up together as racing teams with 2 or 3 cars and through a group effort only had to have minimal spare sparts to run all three, one spare engine if someone blew one it was covered etc. maybe some of the drivers need to team up as racing teams and get the cost of spares and support down, this would considerably help too, also when traveling etc, trips start costing quite a bit, now if you can pull one big trailer and 2 vehicles verson 3 trailers and 3 support cars theres a lot of $$$ just in gas alone. I remeber driving form waterford to road america in wisconsin for a national race, i know i spent about 1500.00 just to make that trip so if you could split that up a bit ,that alone could help the class.
