Rob,
Thank you for the reminder. Prior to getting into F500, I had checked
your message board; but had found no real information. Hopefully more
members of the mailing list are willing to give the forum a try.

Hi folks,
I posted this once, but probably to the wrong topic.
As Chris has stated, there is already a forum for the Formula 500
community set up and running at www.eformulacarnews.com. I pay a
full-time moderator and we support F500 more than any other
motorsports
media source in the world. If we need to adjust our F500 forum to
include different headings and sub-sections etc, that's fine with
me. I
can also give anyone you see fit moderator status for the F500 forum
alone.
That stated, anything I read of starting a separate forum really
upsets
me. If you guys head off and start your own forum, you can kiss
any of
my support good-bye. I bust my ass running a business to support
formula car racing, I attend events, and I pay money out of my own
pocket to pay my staff to publicize this sport. The existing
forums out
there (Spec Miata / Apexspeed) are done by enthusiasts and they
serve a
purpose, and that's great, but we are the ones who cover the events,
spend time on the road away from out families covering racing and work
our asses off to produce a publication. Our website relies on traffic
(ie. views) to sell advertising and we need forum traffic to supply
our
advertisers with the value they are looking for. We need the
support of
the F500 community.
To be honest, FormulaCar Magazine and eformulacarnews.com have made
very
little money yet....it's going to have to change soon.
Take care,

Guys, isn't there already a F500 forum on Formula Car Mag website?

Has anyone thought to ask the ApexSpeed guys if they would offer an
F500 section? They recently added an FM section, so they aren't
exactly
fixated on any one class. You would have the benefit of being able to
track the on-going issues in other like-minded classes while non-F500
guys could see that you are a thriving community struggling with the
same issues and are they. If everybody throws in a $10 annual donation
the financials would covered and no one from here would have to go
through the steep learning curve to get a forum up and running. Just a
thought. Stan

mailing list. I will come
back from a weekend away and find as many as 80 or more messages. My

obvious
junk items so I lose a lot of time reading the emails. I prefer the
nice
setup that Apex Speed and Sports Racing have where their forums are
organized by categories. For example on the sports racer site you have
separate groupings for technical, driving, aerodynamics etc. I don't
know
what it costs to run such a forum format but I am a $$ contributor to
the
Apexspeed site and would entertain contributing to a F500 site if
it was
on
the forum format. I certainlyu agree that it would be easier for new
people
to call up such a site without having to rely on email type operations
as
they do now.
