F5ers I have been on the F500.org list since 2001 or 2002 and it has provided me with lots of valuable info, however the numbers of rambling and off topic posts results in a tremendous amount of stuff to sort out particularly social chit-chat (not that this is bad) mixed in with truly valuable stuff, especially when people have Explorer etc. set to repeat all the previous messages on the topic. Can one imagine what this does to someone traveling and using a PDA to stay in touch. In an effort to help the situation I changed to the digest mode and that is in some ways worse.
I also check out daily and and occasionally participate in the Sportsracer forum. After several years of comparison I find this web based method much more desirable. There is very little chit-chat, the categories allow one to focus only on specific topics plus it has the added feature of being able to illustrate points of one's post with photographs...this also enables people to see other peoples faces and cars...a real plus for someone stuck on a rock in the middle of the Pacific Jim in Hawaii Kai ________________________________ FormulaCar Magazine - A Proud Supporter of Formula 500 The Official Publication of Junior Formula Car Racing Subscribe Today! www.formulacarmag.com or 519-624-2003 _________________________________ _______________________________________________ F500 mailing list - [email protected] To unsubscribe or change options please visit: http://f500.org/mailman/listinfo/f500 *** Please, DO NOT send unsubscribe requests to the mailing list! ***
