Richard,
Your statement " If the front suspension is like my MK8," is not true.
Mk8's have different suspension than the Mk5/7/Invader. Different sized
A-arms and different mounting geometry, too.
I can only tell you what I preferred on my Mk5 and later Mk7. My goal was
minimal castor; 1-3 deg. pos., about 2-3 deg. neg. camber and very little
toe-in (~1/16" but not-to-exceed 1/8"). With these settings, I never
suffered high-speed instability or severe understeer (assuming corner
weights were within reason).

Gene,
I assume that you did not make castor and camber measurements of your car
when you got it. If you did, you already have the camber angle.
If the front suspension is like my MK8, then the only adjustment that is
affected by the top A-arm at the upright is the camber. Just set it to
match the other side.
The questions I have is, how fast were you going when it separated ? and
how
did you break it ? This rod end is a 1/2", should last longer that the
upright.

I broke the rod end that attaches the upper a-arm to the upright last
weekend - photos that my crew guy took are on a forum at
http://roadpwnage.com/forum/index.php?topic=413.15
Since I can't take "before" measurements of the left side when I
replace all the rod ends, I need some alignment specs for a KBS Mk 5
for road racing.
